Meet the Quartet
The fine fellas of Sound Hypothesis
Arran Bayliss-Chalmers (Tenor)
Arran is a tenor with a love for data analytics and a need for speed. By day, he's crunching numbers and analyzing data with lightning-fast precision. By night, he's hitting those high notes and leaving audiences spellbound with his soaring harmonies. He's also the proud owner of a trusty motorbike, which he insists is faster than any algorithm he's ever written.
As the highest voice in the group, Arran's vocal range is so impressive that even his data models can't predict what notes he'll hit next. He's been known to leave his fellow barbershoppers in awe (and occasionally in pain) with his ear-splitting falsetto (not really - itβs beautiful π).
Conrad Godfrey (Lead)
Conrad's voice has been described as a mix between Barry White and a dolphin - smooth, silky, and with just a touch of playful squeakiness. His ability to interpret a song and make it his own is legendary, and he's been known to bring audience members to tears with his heartfelt ballads (although that may just be because of his unique cologne, Eau de Sardines).
When he's not wowing crowds with his vocals, Conrad can often be found cruising around town on his bright yellow unicycle. Some might say it's a bit risky in rush hour traffic, but Conrad's lightning-fast reflexes and years of circus training make him a pro.
Hugh Blayney (Baritone)
Hugh is the youngest member of the quartet, and the only one who can't drive - which is ironic considering he works for a self-driving car start-up. Since joining, Hugh has become addicted to barbershop singing and can often be found harmonising in the middle of a roundabout, much to the confusion of passing drivers.
As the baritone, Hugh is responsible for filling in the harmonies, using his keen musical ear to ensure that every chord is pitch-perfect. But don't be fooled by his youthful appearance - Hugh has wisdom beyond his years, having once predicted the rise of the kazoo as a viable barbershop instrument.
In his free time, Hugh likes to experiment with different barbershop arrangements, often incorporating elements of self-driving car technology into his compositions. He's even tried to program his own barbershop singing robot, but it ended up sounding more like a malfunctioning fax machine.
Alex Moore (Bass)
Meet Alex, the singing physics teacher who can harmonize his way through any experiment. Originally from a parallel universe where music and science are one and the same, Alex found his passion for barbershop singing when he accidentally stumbled into a barbershop quartet rehearsal while searching for a black hole in the multiverse.
Since then, Alex has been preaching the gospel of physics and music - he's even been known to demonstrate the physics behind the harmonies to his students during class - with a voice that's so powerful it can split atoms in half.
Despite his otherworldly talents, Alex is a down-to-earth guy who just wants to spread the joy of barbershop singing and physics to everyone he meets. So if you see him walking down the street singing, be sure to join in and experience the physics of harmonization first-hand.
